Janet Sanz

Janet Sanz (Tamarite de Litera, 1984), Vice President of the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona. She holds a degree in Law and Political Science and Administration from the UPF and was the Second Deputy Mayor heading the Ecology, Urbanism, Infrastructure and Mobility Department of the Barcelona City Council 2015-2023. She has promoted the green and sustainable transformation of the city with projects such as Barcelona Superblock, consolidating the tramway net, closing down all illega tourist apartments or the Low Emissions Zone. Most of her associative activity has been dedicated to the ecological, feminist and youth movements and is a member of Ecologists in Action, SOS Racism and the CCOO union.
