Katarzyna Turoń, PhD, DSc, Eng. is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering, Silesian University of Technology in Poland, where she combines research, international projects, and teaching in the Department of Road Transport. She lectures on Mobility Management, Project-Based Learning in Mobility, and Transport Regulation. Her expertise spans sustainable mobility management, open innovation, and the digital transformation of transport, with a strong focus on aligning policy, industry, and research. She has been recognized among the Top 2% of the world’s most influential scientists by Stanford University (2022–2024) and honored with awards such as Scientist of the Future and Top 100 Women in Engineering. Internationally, she has held prestigious fellowships at Oxford University and through the Visegrad Fund. She collaborates with leading universities worldwide and serves as an editor for many journals, including, among others, Discover Cities, Journal of Transformative Technologies and Sustainable Development, Sustainability, Energies, and Future Transportation. She also sits on the Advisory Board of the Journal of Open Innovation: Technology, Market, and Complexity. She is a frequent keynote and conference speaker, invited to address international events on mobility, smart cities, and innovation policy. Currently, she leads a major EU-funded project on the green and digital transformation of transport.
