Bogna Świątkowska is the originator, founder and President of the Board of the Bęc Zmiana Foundation, with which she has delivered dozens of projects dedicated to public space, architecture and design, including research into the potential of urban social spaces. She is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of “Notes na 6 tygodni”, a magazine devoted to contemporary culture.
Previously, she served as Editor-in-Chief of “Machina”, Poland’s first pop culture monthly magazine, from 1998 to 2001. She is the author of numerous articles and interviews, as well as radio and television programmes devoted to contemporary popular culture. In 2014, she received a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
She was a member of the Social Council for Culture advising the Mayor of Warsaw from 2012 to 2015, the Warsaw Council for Architecture and Public Space from 2015 to 2018, and the Expert Group for Local Culture at the National Centre for Culture from 2015 to 2017. She has served on the programme councils of cultural and art institutions including TRAFO Trafostacja Sztuki in Szczecin, Rondo Sztuki Gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, and the EL Gallery Art Centre in Elbląg. She is also a member of the Social Council for the Public Programme at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw and a member of the Council of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice.
She is a graduate of the Management and Leadership programme at SWPS University in Warsaw and a mentor in the Mentors4Starters programme. She is a regular contributor to “Tygodnik Kulturalny” on TVP Kultura.
In 2025, she received the honorary badge “Meritorious for Polish Culture”, awarded by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, as well as the “Bene Merentibus” Medal from the Association of Polish Architects in recognition of her contribution to Polish architecture.
