Biography:
Anja van Niersen is CEO of Milence, which was established in July 2022 as a joint venture between Daimler Truck, TRATON GROUP, and the Volvo Group. Milence is committed to making the future of road transport fossil-free by building a high-performance public charging network for heavy-duty trucks and coaches.
Anja has been among the leaders in electromobility for more than a decade. In 2010, she started as a product manager at Alliander, one of the largest electrical infrastructure companies in the Netherlands. In 2013, Anja founded Allego, serving as Managing Director and then CEO until 2019, overseeing the company’s growth from start-up to leading EV charging provider with more than 25.000 charging points in 12 countries.
Anja grew up in Varsselder, a small village in the Mid Eastern region, the Netherlands. After studying psychology at Radboud University in Nijmegen, Anja transitioned into the IT sector. Anja lives in a small village east of Arnhem, the Netherlands, and speaks German, English, and Dutch.
