Annika Lundkvist is the founder of pedestrianspace.org, a media advocacy and engagement platform and NGO dedicated to diverse issues of walkability and urban resilience. Annika has been featured in diverse contexts, shaping awareness on the foundational role of walkability in urban development, including the role of safe, affordable, accessible public transportation (https://pedestrianspace.org/featured/). She is currently in the final phase of her PhD with a dissertation on the best practices and barriers of walkability in Warsaw via the 15-minute city lens. She is a fellow of The Schumacher Institute and currently guest editing a Contributed Volume ‘Walkability & Planetary Health’ for University of Vermont Press. She is currently lead guest editor for a special issue for Cities and Health Journal on ‘Walkability and Mobility Justice’ and a guest editor for a special issue of the Journal of Urbanism: International Research on Placemaking and Urban Sustainability on ‘Spatial, Environmental & Social Dimensions of the 15-Minute City’.
