Franco Jauregui Fung is a Peruvian architect and urban planner based in Bonn, Germany. He holds a Master of Science in Urban Agglomerations from the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. He currently works as a researcher at the German Institute for Development and Sustainability (IDOS). His latest project was a collaboration with GIZ and ECLAC on the topic of financing mass transit systems in Latin America and Asia through land value capture (LVC) and transit-oriented development (TOD) strategies. He is also pursuing his doctoral studies at the RWTH Aachen University. His research focuses on the co-benefits of mass transit systems and transit-oriented development in emerging economies, with an emphasis on the integration of bus rapid transit (BRT) and railway systems in Jakarta, Indonesia. He specialises in the topics of sustainable urban development and sustainable urban mobility, popular transport and integration of mass transit systems in the Global South.
