Haluk Sayar

Haluk Sayar was born in Istanbul and graduated from Yıldız Technical University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He furthered his education at the University of Maryland in the United States. Since beginning his professional career in 1993 as a Project Engineer at Primagas, he has been a pioneer in the green transformation of the energy, building, and mobility sectors. He has played a key role in developing, managing, implementing, and consulting on numerous national and international green transformation projects, including EU Horizon, GEF, UNDP, AFD, and others. In 1999, he founded AES Alternative Energy Systems Ltd., which he later transferred to Ecofys, a Netherlands-based company, where he served as Türkiye Country Manager until 2013. From 2013 to 2019, he held the position of Türkiye Country Manager at KWA Contracting AG, a Germany-based firm. Since 2019, he has worked as an independent consultant. Since 2000, he has established and held executive positions in several leading non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the industry, with ongoing involvement in some. These include Türkiye – EUROSOLAR (The European Association for Renewable Energy), ÇEDBİK (Turkish Green Building Council), TRAEE (The Turkish Association for Energy Economics), DİSÜDER (Digital and Sustainable Future Association), and E-MOBILITY EURASIA. With over 30 years of experience, Haluk Sayar continues to drive innovation and sustainability in the global green economy.
