Ewa Ptaszyńska is Head of the Horizon Europe Transport Unit at the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA), where she leads a team managing over 400 research and innovation projects worth more than €3 billion – turning European policy ambitions into practical solutions across urban mobility, road transport, aviation and waterborne transport. She has extensive experience in EU transport policy, developed principally within the European Commission, and has built her career around transport and mobility that is sustainable, safe, equitable and efficient.
As an EU Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley, she conducted research on automation in the trucking sector. She is particularly interested in bridging the gap between research and large-scale deployment, and in how public and private investment can be aligned to bring innovative mobility solutions to market at scale.
