Since May 7, 2024, he has been Mayor of Tychy. Previously, he served as Deputy Mayor responsible for education, culture, health promotion and prevention, and broadly defined social assistance. In his work, he also focused on issues related to employment, unemployment, and the professional activation of Tychy residents. Since January 2026, he has been Chairman of the Assembly of the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis.
He graduated in sociology from the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Silesia (specializing in social work). He began his professional career as a radio journalist at Radio Flash. He spent over 20 years in radio and has won numerous journalist competitions. He was awarded the title of Medical Journalist of the Year 2012. Since 2016, he has been a member of the Radio Katowice Program Council.
In 2014, he swapped the radio microphone for the press spokesman’s position at the Voivodeship Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Katowice. After two years at the Fund, he became Director of the Social Communications Department and spokesperson for the Marshal’s Office of the Silesian Voivodeship. He worked there until 2018. He also served as a Tychy City Councilor from 2010 to 2018, serving, among other roles, as Chairman of the City Council.
