A local government official, lawyer and university lecturer, he served as a City Councillor during the 2006–2010 and 2010–2014 terms. In 2014, he was re-elected to the City Council and appointed Deputy Mayor of Biała Podlaska, with responsibility for education, culture, sport and social policy.
In 2018, he won the election for Mayor of Biała Podlaska. In 2024, he was successfully re-elected, winning in the first round with 53.12% of the vote.
