Born in Szczecin in 1956, Piotr Mync graduated in Architecture from Szczecin University of Technology and completed studies in healthcare facility design at the Medical Centre for Postgraduate Education in Warsaw.
Until 1989, he worked at the Healthcare Studies and Design Office in Szczecin. He subsequently worked as an architectural designer at Egon Saat AB Architektkontor in Stockholm. He then served as Deputy Mayor of Szczecin until 1998, with responsibility for spatial planning, urban regeneration, housing policy, property management and geodesy.
During his professional career, he also served as President of the Office for Housing and Urban Development. From 2000 to 2001, he was Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction. He subsequently became Vice-President of a BUDIMEX subsidiary specialising in construction. From 2003, he served as President of the Stargard Social Housing Association. In 2013, he was appointed Deputy Mayor of Szczecin for Economic Affairs and Development.
Since 2017, he has served as Deputy Mayor of Stargard. His responsibilities include strategic documents for the city’s development; spatial planning, including architecture, urban planning and property management; housing policy; municipal services; and public procurement.
In the 1980s, he was active in the Solidarity movement. In 2006, he was awarded the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta. In 2016, he was granted the title of Honorary Citizen of Stargard.
