Byford Tsang is a senior policy fellow with the Asia programme at the European Council on Foreign Relations, where his work focuses on the intersection of energy, climate, trade, and industrial policy, and how these issues shape Europe’s external relations, particularly with China. Previously, Byford led the China programme at the international climate think tank E3G, where he advised policymakers on EU-China climate and energy relations and negotiations. He led the supply chain sustainability practice at S&P Global, working with corporate and investor clients on climate risk assessment and disclosure. Byford also worked in Hong Kong as an environmental consultant, supporting companies in the manufacturing sector across China and Southeast Asia on corporate sustainability strategies and policies.
