Robert Konieczny is an architect and founder of KWK Promes. He is the architect behind numerous acclaimed buildings that have received major international awards, several of which were awarded to projects in Poland for the first time.
His Ark in Brenna was named the world’s best house at the Wallpaper Design Awards in 2017, while the Dialogue Centre Przełomy in Szczecin was named the world’s best building at the 2016 World Architecture Festival in Berlin and received the 2016 European Prize for Urban Public Space, awarded by the CCCB in Barcelona.
His PLATO Contemporary Art Gallery in Ostrava was named one of Europe’s five best buildings in 2024 by the Mies van der Rohe Foundation, established by the European Union.
He is a foreign member of the French Académie d’Architecture and the Czech Association of Architects, Obec Architektů, and a recipient of the Award of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
Projects by KWK Promes have been nominated for the Mies van der Rohe Award 14 times.
