Dr Adam Okniński is Director of the Space Technologies Centre at Łukasiewicz – Institute of Aviation (ILOT) and Coordinator of the Łukasiewicz Research Network’s Space Research Programme. He leads the Space Technologies Centre at Łukasiewicz – ILOT, where approximately 100 engineers develop space propulsion technologies and rocket systems.
The technologies under development include environmentally friendly rocket engines, satellite deorbiting systems and next-generation lunar landers. These projects are carried out in collaboration with leading companies in the space sector, including ArianeGroup, Avio, Thales Alenia Space and Airbus Defence and Space. Over the past five years, the team has filed 20 patent applications and received numerous international awards.
Since 2026, Adam Okniński has served as Coordinator of the Łukasiewicz Research Network’s Space Research Programme.
